Keijsers Koning is proud to announce two museum acquisitions of work by Verònica Gaona.
Following her exhibition Ya Hecho: Readymade in the Borderlands at the Tucson Museum of Art (July 3 – November 30, 2025), guest curated by Rigoberto Luna, the Museum acquired "Red Sun," a wall sculpture, for their permanent collection.
In Fall 2025, Gaona debuted a series of sculptures at Untitled Art Fair in Houston, created during her residency at Skowhegan School of Painting & Sculpture. These works caught the attention of Vivian Li, Lupe Murchison Curator of Contemporary Art at the Dallas Museum of Art. With generous support from the Adkins-Green Foundation, "Miami" was acquired for the permanent collection of the Dallas Museum of Art.
Earlier this month, curator and scholar of modern and contemporary art Javier Arellano Vences reflected beautifully on Gaona’s series “Spanning Worlds” in his recent publication for the US Latinx Art Forum:
