Museum Acquisitions; Blanton Museum of Art acquires Willie Binnie

Keijsers Koning is pleased to announce the acquisition of two large watercolors by Willie Binnie's "Super Harvest Moon, Marfa TX" and "Dollar General" by the Blanton Museum of Art in Austin, TX for their permanent collection. The two works were inspired by Willie's residency at the Chinati Foundation in Marfa, both drawings are a direct reaction to the Texas landscape which resonated with the museum.

We would like to thank Holly Borham (Curator of Prints, Drawings and European Art at the Blanton Museum), Rachel Urbano (Curatorial Assistant of Prints, Drawings and European Art at the Blanton Museum), Carter Johnson (Deputy Director for Curatorial Affairs) and Malina Graves (Registrar for the collection of the Blanton Museum) for their assistance and of course a special thank you to Joanne Cassullo whose generosity and endless support made this possible.

Willie is currently working on his forthcoming solo show June 13 - September 5, 2026 at the Old Jail Art Center in Albany, Texas, curated by their Executive Director, Patrick Kelly. The exhibition, titled Wishing Well, is an humorous take on the building's history and the location of the sculpture in the show, being the holding cell. This will be followed by a two-person show with Ohan Breiding which is scheduled to open at the Izzy Lee Gallery, Los Angeles, CA in 2027
