Artnews' Francesca Aton selected Keijsers Koning as one of the Best Booths at Untitled, Houston. Aton's focus fell on Veronica Gaona's wall sculputures which were prominently featured in the booth.
"For these sculptures, Verónica Gaona salvaged metal from large Ford F150 trucks, the scraps looking like crumbled pieces of paper hanging in the booth of Keijsers Koning. (Disclosure: I worked at the gallery for a time when it was known as LMAK.) These pieces of detritus gathered along the Rio Grande River are collaged with personal photographs of the artist’s family and friends. Mapping oneself and one’s family directly on the surfaces of discarded trucks draws out issues relating to migration between the United States and Mexico—a particularly haunting topic in Texas, given its location along the United States–Mexico border." - Francesca Aton, ArtNews
